Honor Programs
Tribe of Mic-O-Say
The Tribe of Mic-O-Say is an H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation leadership program whose mission is the intensification of the principles of the Scout Oath and Law in the lives of Scouts and Scouters and to encourage their continued participation in Scouting.
Mic-O-Say accomplishes its purposes by affording members ongoing opportunities for introspection on Scouting values as well as a practical application of those ideals. While the program is focused on Scouts, adults can also be inducted into the Mic-O-Say program.
The mystery of the program is kept from younger scouts, but the goals, organization, and details of the program are available to any adult. Tribesmen and Honored Women who have embraced the principles of Mic-O-Say are invited to join the Mic-O-Say ceremonies. Additionally, any parent with a child participating in the program is welcome to observe the ceremonies. For more details please contact the Troop Scoutmaster or Committee Chair.
Order of The Arrow
The purpose of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society, is fourfold:
Recognize those who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and through that recognition cause others to conduct themselves in a way that warrants similar recognition.
Promote camping, responsible outdoor adventure, and environmental stewardship as essential components of every Scout’s experience, in the unit, year-round, and in summer camp.
Develop leaders with the willingness, character, spirit and ability to advance the activities of their units, our Brotherhood, Scouting, and ultimately our nation
Crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.
